When looking for a Spanish language program that will help you to learn Spanish quickly and effectively, took for Spanish language teaching software. Learning Spanish is not just for grade school students. Increasingly, more adults are taking courses to learn how to effectively speak Spanish also. This is due to their awareness that learning Spanish, as a second language, can become useful in their everyday lives such as in their careers or just friendly communications as more and more Spanish speaking individuals are moving to the U.S.

Learning Spanish by using Spanish language teaching software enables the student to learn more quickly than other programs because of the software’s heightened technology processes. The way the software teaches students is with a combination of illustrations and audio that are used in a repetitive sequence to help you retain the information; fast. Additionally, software encourages the learner to be engaging with the interactive prompts within the program in a way that imitates the way you would talk to a live person. Learning a new language, such as Spanish takes time, but studying using advanced technologies that are included in Spanish language teaching software will enable you to learn at a much faster rate than normal.

Evaluating different Spanish teaching software programs give rise to the fact that the convenience factor is a major reason why the program works so well. People who are too busy to commute to classes have the luxury of studying at home.

Additionally, the use of fun and entertaining activities within Spanish language teaching software provides a good reason why it’s become one of the most popular language programs around. Students who have used the program pride themselves on their ability to boost their Spanish speaking communication skills at a much faster rate than other students who use traditional or older methods.

Spanish language teaching software is the way to go if you are looking to learn to speak Spanish for any reason. Learning a new language is not just for kids anymore. Adults can become just as proficient in the Spanish language by being consistent with their at-home software Spanish course.

By: Tim Gorman

Distance learning is gaining popularity among adults who are keen to upgrade themselves for better career opportunities. Distance learning provides an alternative for people to further their education without having to undergo the traditional classroom learning. Nowadays, more adults are becoming interested to pursue higher education in order to compete more effectively in the job market. In response to this growing interest in higher education, education providers are creating new courses using new technologies to meet the demand. Many distance learning online courses are developed to meet this increasing need.

Many people choose this learning mode of study because of the flexibility and freedom it provides. Some of them enroll in this type of learning courses because they are working full-time and could not afford to lose their jobs. They need their income for their own as well as their family’s living expenses, and leaving their jobs would bring about financial problems. They have to find a way to fit learning into their schedule of family and job demands. Some people take up distance learning courses because they live far away from the school and attending classes is inconvenient. For some, this problem arises because the program they want to study is not offered by a nearby school and they have to choose a school far away from their residence. Traveling to a campus far away is inconvenient and time-consuming. Some people have family commitments which make attending class difficult. These people may have elderly or kids at home to look after and are not able to attend classes. Studying through distance learning can enable them to look after their family while they study. There are some people who are keen to do a certain course but feel shy about joining a class. Hence, they choose to do distance learning courses because these courses do not require them to attend classes.

Distance learning has several benefits in which the classroom learning lack. One of the benefits is that a learner can learn at his or her own pace. In classroom learning, the faster learners need to wait for the slower learners to catch up with the lesson before the teacher can move on to the next topic. They have to slow down their pace for the sake of the slower learners. With distance learning, the faster learner can go on to the next topic any time he or she wants. Furthermore, in classroom learning, a learner has only one chance of listening to a class lesson. However, with distance learning, the learner can replay a portion of the audio tape or video, or read again the notes for a particular module.

In classroom learning, each module of the course is given the relative amount of emphasis and time that the teacher deems necessary. Students have the flexibility to spend the amount of time they choose for each module. They can spend less time on the modules that they are familiar with and spend more time and attention on modules which are new to them. This mode of study allows the students to use their time according to their needs.

One of the advantages of distance learning is that the student can have access to learning at any time and any place. There are no restrictions imposed on their study time and location. Students can easily fit learning into their family and work life. They do not need to adjust their family and work commitments in order to attend fixed class schedules. Besides, it enables students to save on travel time and travel costs. They can spend more time and money on other areas.

Distance online learning creates interactions that stimulate understanding and exchange of ideas. Online programs require the student to actively participate in the learning process. Throughout the course, the student is presented with opportunities to interact with the course instructor as well as other students via website forums, chat rooms, Internet conferencing and emails. Online course developers try to get the student to participate and engage as much as possible.

Some research studies have shown that distance learning education can be as effective as campus-based education. These research studies reported that distance students can perform as well as or better than campus-based students. Many students who have succeeded in distance learning education have reported that they have a positive experience with distance learning courses.

We can see from the above that distance learning has many advantages. It provides a great opportunity for people to obtain higher education for their career advancement. If you are interested in taking up a course to upgrade yourself, you can consider a distance learning course. Many schools provide courses in various disciplines. There is a great variety of courses available to select from.

By: Rose Mary

Playing a musical instrument is a skill that is often looked at as being reserved for only a select few. From my experience of teaching years of elementary music I have found that the number of students who can be successful with an instrument is far greater than most people believe. In fact, I have yet to find a student who couldn’t make an instrument sound good.

My results may be biased, however, for two reasons. First of all, I teach elementary aged students who don’t have the hang-ups or mental obstacles that many adults have. They give music an honest try and believe they have the potential to be able to play well. Secondly, I am passionate about what I do. I truly believe that anyone who wants to learn music can, if they are taught the right way.

Learning a song can be broken down into three easy steps: listen, read and play. If these steps are down properly and patiently, the songs will flow.

Listening to music is an important step that is often skipped over. To play a song properly a student needs to be familiar with the notes. The song should be listened to a minimum of 4 times. I often play a song that we will be learning in other classes. While students are quietly working on math problems or reading, I’ll play the song in the background. It is important that they listen to the song played as perfectly as possible which means a digital or professional track of the song is much better that listening to someone who is only still learning to play the song. If listened to enough, the song will become familiar and easily recognized.

The second step is to read the music. At first a student will have to look up notes on a note guide, but with practice this will become automatic. Finding the notes can be easy if note guides are clear and easy to use. Any music shop will offer a variety of choices.

The third step is the most obvious one; playing the instrument. When an instrument is played, it should be played along with an accompanying CD or experienced player. This will help the student play in tune and in rhythm. Repeated playing along with a model version of the song will encourage a high level of skill.

These steps will take a student down the path to being a skilled musician. As many parents already know, the gift of music will last a lifetime.

By: Darren Michalczuk

One of the most common gripes of teachers working to integrate technology into their classroom is that they find themselves troubleshooting technology more than instructing.

I would be reporting from some alien nation if I didn’t acknowledge and agree with you that working with technology will bring some technical issues. Add into that equation the variable of children!

The first step in dealing with this problem is accepting this so that when it happens it doesn’t cause you any anxiety or stress.

One way to combat some of the stress is to always encourage students to save often for “when” the computer malfunctions, not “if” it will happen.

I also have a string of comments available for problem times:

“Bummer.”

“Man, I hate when that happens!”

“Why don’t you try another computer?”

“I sure hope you saved recently.”

“I bet next time you’ll save!”

Another way to deal with the technical issues is to use your students as the experts. As you troubleshoot an issue with a student, talk out loud and explain what you are doing. Then when the issue arises again, send that child to help the other. Remembering that the students of today have always had technology and technological issues as a part of their life, they are very understanding and patient….more than we are as adults!

By using these couple strategies you may find that you feel less stressed as you acknowledge that technological issues are just a fact of life when you use multiple computers with a class of children.

By: Kathy Cothran

Now there’s a way for working adults to obtain a degree that requires a person to log onto a computer and connect to the Internet. Technology has allowed full-time employees to achieve that same four-year degree that every incoming young freshman is achieving nowadays. This method can be done while at work, in school computer labs, or at the privacy of your own home. Online studies provide a number of learning options, in addition to classroom-based instruction. An example is, “Online Education”, when the instructor and student are separated by physical distance and technology. These course delivery formats are designed to offer the working adult the greatest flexibility in planning their academic schedule. Many of these formats use the latest technological advances to bring teachers and students at different locations together, while others enable to complete course requirements without classroom attendance.

Both the student and the faculty play a huge part in the success of the online education. The primary role of the student is to learn. In order to learn, the student must be willing to be motivated, self disciplined, and able to analyze and apply the instructional content that is being taught. The problem sometimes is that the student tends to get discouraged because there is not face-to-face contact with the instructor and fellow students. In this case, the student needs to be willing to adapt to the required conditions, and carry on with the course instructions. A friend of mine once said that the success of any online education is entirely up to the professor that is teaching. The instructor has many responsibilities that they must follow in order to assure a good outcome of online education. They must develop an understanding of the characteristics and needs of the students with first-hand experience and maybe even some face-to-face contact that does not occur very often. They must be willing to adapt and take into consideration the needs and expectations of the students. Most importantly, they must develop a working understanding of the technology, while still remaining focused with their teaching. Many people always wonder what the difference is between a classroom taught class and a online education class.

Classroom instructors use a great deal of visual cues from their students to enhance the way a particular subject is taught. Sometimes the instructor notices the people who are paying close attention, and those who are taking notes. They may notice a student that is confused or frustrated by their facial expressions. By having the face-to-face teaching, the instructor can adjust the delivery of the information to fit the needs of the students. By taking a online education class, the cues are no longer there. The instructor may never know who is having a problem or who needs additional help with the subject. That is why it is so important to constantly provide the feedback that is necessary to get the students through a problem. Some ways of effective feedback is for the instructor to require the students to contact them by either e-mail or in the conference area. By making it a requirement, many students will in fact state what problems they might be having. Another way of feedback is for the instructor to arrange telephone office hours so the students can call when a problem may exist. Feedback and communication are some of the most important attributes of online education.

The number one tool used for online education is the World Wide Web. According to the computer dictionary, the Internet is the world’s largest, most powerful computer network, connecting personal computers, sophisticated mainframes, and high-speed supercomputers around the globe. The Internet is perhaps the most transformative technology in history, reshaping business, media, entertainment, and society in astonishing ways. But for all its power, it is just now being tapped to transform education. The Internet is a tool that empowers society to teach the illiterate, bring job training to the unskilled, open a universe of wonderful images and knowledge to all students, and enrich the understanding of the lifelong learner. The good news is that the Internet is bringing us closer than ever thought possible to make learning- of all kinds, at all levels, any time, any place, any pace- a dream come true for every man, woman, and child. The bad news is that millions still cannot access the Internet and do not understand how to use it to take advantage of the global web of knowledge.

Online education is a great way for the working adult to receive their degree without having to attend a classroom full-time. It is the new future for education, and in my opinion will soon be the only way to obtain a degree for most working adults. It is extremely hard to make it far in a career without having that degree to back you up. Now days, employers are looking for a degree as a complete necessity, and the bare minimum for an interview. People just have to sit down and see that obtaining a degree can be done, and it is possible no matter what situation they may be in. If this era of globalization has proven anything, it is that a growing world economy can create a strong and lasting demand for skilled knowledge workers and a technologically savvy workforce. But we haven’t made the connection to education. We must seize the opportunities and complete these connections- technological and human. And we must advance with constant assessment and reflection. There is still much about learning and the impact of technology we do not know.

We must continue to research what is not known, analyze what is proposed or in progress, and then examine the results. We also must merge our belief in the large value of these advances with admiration for the difficulties that we face: the difference of access and shortage of teacher preparedness for web-based education. In short, the online education is not a worldwide cure for every problem in education. We require being practical. But we also must understand that the Internet is a key that can help us give power to every student and raise each individual to new levels of intellectual capability and skill. That is the great chance of this new technology. The authority and the guarantee are here. It is now time to shift from promise to implication.

By: Mathew Simond

We are very divided as parents when it comes to the use of technology in our children’s lives. Some whole-heartedly embrace it, and some absolutely abhor the idea of allowing their children to spend any time in front of the computer. As with many great things in life, if we don’t use it wisely, we end up getting hurt more than we benefit.

I don’t allow my students nor my children to spend precious time on the computer playing games; however, I encourage them to spend time writing on the computer and visiting educational websites to take quizzes and read informative articles. I even encourage them to write e-mail, provided they produce content rich e-mail.

More and more children’s educational websites are requiring subscriptions. I subscribe to several websites my students really enjoy. Brainpop.com, edhelper.com, and dictionary.com all got high marks. Their content is consistently entertaining and educational and they provide fresh material every day.

Surprisingly, standard issue software has turned out to be one of technology’s most useful educational tools. Microsoft Office has helped my students and children improve their writing at an astonishing speed. Not many people would think that Microsoft Word, which is primarily designed for adults, could have such an impact on a young child’s learning and writing. I didn’t know myself until my six-year-old daughter played around with the program and became instantly hooked. She wrote story after story non-stop for entire month; she would opt out of playing outside with her friends and eating dinner to concentrate on her stories.

Within one year, she has written more than 250,000 words. Last February she received an unsolicited invitation to appear on Good Morning America. If learning to use an adult oriented word processing program could accelerate Adora’s progress exponentially, would a similar strategy work with other children? I decided to find out. I started my school’s first writing workshop by encouraging students to learn to type. Within days, the students caught up to speed and started to create beautiful stories. I have been impressed by their output, but their changing attitude towards writing is even more amazing. Children who were once constantly frustrated by erasing and re-writing are now free to express their ideas. They have become avid readers and writers in a few weeks time.

The success of our workshop and my daughter’s publication of her first book convinced me that technology is tremendously useful in our students’ learning as long as we should teach them to use it wisely and effectively. When technology is implemented to enhance learning instead of being offered as a mere instrument for entertainment, it can reduce the time it takes to master a subject while making learning more enjoyable and fulfilling.

By: Joyce Svitak
